Want to learn how to confidently process your own chickens — from field to freezer? Join us for a hands-on, in-person workshop at our farm and gain practical skills that will last a lifetime.
Choose from Two Workshop Options:
1-Day Workshop – Learn the Essentials
Perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to master the full "kill-to-chill" process.
You’ll Learn:
- How to humanely and effectively dispatch chickens
- Step-by-step how to scald, pluck, and eviscerate
- Our food safety tips, tools, and workflow secrets that help us process 100+ birds in under 4 hours
- How to chill, bag, and store your birds for safe consumption
Bonus: Take home whole chickens that you personally processed!

Time: 8am-12pm
2-Day Workshop – Level Up Your Butchering Skills
Includes everything from the 1-Day Workshop — plus an entire second day focused on cutting, packaging, and prepping your birds like a pro.
Day 1:
All the hands-on training from the 1-Day Workshop.
Day 2:
- How to break down a whole chicken into boneless breasts, thighs, drumsticks, wings, and ground meat
- Butchering practice with speed competitions for fun and confidence-building
- How to vacuum seal and label cuts for sale or storage
- Overview of North Carolina Inspected Poultry Exemption packaging & handling laws
